Recycling and Creativity on show at new market

The next Lismore Recycled Market will be held on Saturday, 19 November 2016 from 9am to 2pm next door to the Lismore Revolve Shop, which is located within the Lismore Recycling & Recovery Centre on Wyrallah Road.

Stallholders sell their goods from shipping containers and the Lismore Revolve Shop is also open so people can browse for second-hand goods.

The intent of the market is to promote the re-use of waste items, upcycling and community arts to reduce the amount of waste going to landfill. Stallholders are people who have used second-hand materials and repurposed them in some way. This could include anything made from recycled materials – furniture, household items, fashion, jewellery, art, sculpture and lots more.

There is live music and fun for the kids as well as food and coffee alongside the creative offerings of some very innovative stallholders The market will run as part of a Community Open Day at the Lismore Recycling & Recovery Centre, where the community can take part in a range of activities that promote reuse, recycling and sustainable living.

The market is another initiative created by Council to achieve the community’s vision that Lismore becomes a model of sustainability.
