Our MRF film... explaining how our MRF works

Lismore City Council constructed our state-of-the-art, $3.65 million Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) and Glass Processing Plant in May 2014.

Our MRF is a specialised plant that sorts, separates and prepares recyclable materials, ready to be sent off and made into new products.

The facility processes 15,000 tonnes of recyclables per year including materials from our neighbouring councils, making us the recycling hub of the region.

We wanted to show people how the MRF works, so you get an idea of the journey waste and recycling takes after it leaves your home. Watch what happens in our MRF video, Welcome to the Recycling Revolution.
